Christmas Carols By Candlelight

300 people attended the Christmas Carol Concert on 21st December 2014 to hear the restored organ being played and the Scholars singing. This was the largest amount of people the church has ever had for its annual Carol service.

AN ORGANic LIFE

A series of 5 workshops focusing on the key dates in the organ's history, looking at the organ, music, the arts, culture, and the history of Notting Hill. Every Thursday at 2pm, starting on Thursday 8th January, for 6 Thursdays. More info here.

WWI-set Silent Film 'Wings' (1927), with organ accompanying Friday 7th November, 8.00pm

Acclaimed film organist Donald MacKenzie returns to St John's to accompany the classic Academy Award-winning silent film 'Wings', a romantic action-war film about two WWI fighter pilots.
Open Age Men's Group Visit and Organ Recital Thursday 13th November 1pm - 3.30pm

Picture
A visit for men aged 50 and over, in association with Open Age. The group will learn about the history of organs, how they work, about their music repertoire, and will be able to hear and use the organ. There will be an organ recital at 1pm, followed by the workshop at 2pm.

Project R is a dusty, little, private film archive. It specialises in small, bespoke film screenings of long lost, vintage educational and training reels. To celebrate the restoration of our organ the final vintage film will feature live, musical accompaniment. FREE ENTRY

The Highest and Lowest Notes of the Organ

Experimental sound-music piece composed by Edward Henderson, where the highest and lowest notes of the organ are held down continuously for 5 hours between 5pm - 10pm
